Publisher
The specialist publisher ad picturam was founded in 2011 and is based in Merzhausen near Freiburg im Breisgau. Its programme includes publications on fine art, art history, art theory and architecture, particularly doctoral and postdoctoral theses, edited volumes, monographs, catalogues raisonnés and festschrifts. Since 2015, the independent publisher has partnered with arthistoricum.net, the Heidelberg University Library platform.
Dr Carmen Flum

Dr Carmen Flum studied art history, German literature and classical archaeology in Freiburg im Breisgau, Paris and Heidelberg. In 2008, she received her doctorate from the University of Freiburg with the dissertation “Armeleutemalerei. Darstellungen der Armut im deutschsprachigen Raum 1830–1914” (supervisors: Wilhelm Schlink and Erik Forssman). After several years working as a freelance journalist, author and academic editor, she founded the specialist publisher ad picturam in 2011. Carmen Flum is a member of the Merzhausen municipal council and curator of the art collection of the Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald district.
